Synopsis
The Tavira Food Gardens have emerged in the municipality as an initiative to reestablish the connection between public spaces and the local community, contributing to the creation of a more resilient region capable of addressing current challenges related to environmental sustainability, the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, and citizen participation and engagement. This guide introduces the specific context in which the initiative was developed, the methodological approaches that enabled community participation in its implementation, as well as the challenges and opportunities encountered. It is hoped that this will inspire its replication, as this participatory initiative has clear potential for expansion and adaptation to other regions.
